Most first calls are quieter than people expect. Nobody needs a full system map. You need a real workflow, a constraint, and an honest answer about whether software is even the right next step.

Before you get on the call

You do not need a brief. You do need something concrete enough to point at.

Bring one of these:

• A report someone still copies by hand every week
• A form, PDF, or inbox that eats an afternoon
• An ads or ops loop that only works when one person is in the chair
• A product idea that is stuck at “we should use AI” with no owner

If you cannot name the job, the call turns into a tour of models. That wastes the half hour.

What we usually talk through

The useful part is boring on purpose.

We pick one workflow and walk it in order: who starts it, which tools already hold the data, where it stalls, and what “done” looks like for the person who has to live with it. Kuwait teams often already have the accounts (ads, CRM, WhatsApp, accounting). The gap is the glue, the exceptions, and who is allowed to press go.

I will say if a helper, a scheduled job, or a small integration is enough. I will also say if you should not build yet — for example when the source data is a mess, or when a person still has to judge every row.
