When a product photo should become UGC, not another shoot day

How we scope the ‘packshot in, talking-head Reel out’ job — who the creator is, who approves the script, and when a real shoot is still the honest first step.

The job is a campaign cut. You have a product still, you need a person on camera talking about it, and a shoot day is the thing you keep postponing.

Brands ask for “AI UGC.” That is a category, not a brief. Consultancy writes the loop: which product, which face, who owns the script, and where the file has to land.

What we check on a consultancy call

Whether you already have a packshot someone trusts. Whether the talking head has to look like a specific person, or a roster is allowed. Who can reject a line. Which language and idiom the audience actually uses. Where the finished cut goes — a drive, Ads Manager, a brand account.

If you cannot name the product and the platform, a generator will invent a new face every cycle. That is a pause.

If the still is real and the stall is the shoot, a workflow can cast, script, and render. The Mehfil Media case study is that loop for Pakistani brands: upload a product photo, pick a creator, write the storyline, download the Reel. We will not treat one market’s idiom as a Kuwait grid. A GCC brief still needs its own language rules.

This is not the Instagram generate-and-post loop. That job ships a scheduled grid from an idea. This job starts from a SKU still and a talking head.

What we will not recommend yet

We will not open with unattended posting to paid social. A person still has to watch the first cuts. We will not promise a creator who is indistinguishable from a named influencer you did not license.

If every caption still needs a founder rewrite, keep them in the loop and automate only the render. That decision is AI consultancy first, then AI video if the packshot-to-cut path is mechanical.
